Blog »  Things you can do with Wood Shredding or Shavings

We sell bags of wood shavings which are created out of recycled pallets using our unique shredding machine. This machine has magnetic conveyors which allows us to remove 100% of nails. Each nail is removed whole and completely intact, ensuring there aren’t any nail particles or metal shards remaining. These wood shavings can be used in many different ways:

Chicken Litter
Wood shavings are the most preferable option for a chicken coop. It is a commonly used material for litter as it smells pleasant, is amazingly absorbent, and does not pack down. It is better than sawdust because sawdust is typically easily stirred and the dust settles anywhere and everywhere within the coop.

Dog Kennel Bedding
Keep your doggie warm and comfortable during cold nights with our wood shavings. Wood shavings make a good bedding by cushioning the floor which keeps your pet warm and comfortable. The best thing about shavings of wood such as cedar and pine is that these have insect-repelling qualities that help prevent bugs and fleas from entering your dog house or kennel.

Cattle Deep Litter
Wood shavings make a great option for housing cattle as it has a high carrying capacity which prevents the animals from sinking. It is inexpensive, has a pleasant smell and is easy to handle. The best part about wood shavings is that it is biodegradable and compostable.

Renewable Energy
Wood shreddings are a form of renewable energy. They are clean, domestic and sustainable and when burned in the right manner can provide enormous amounts of energy. It is also one of the most affordable substitutes for heating.

Horse Bedding
Wood shavings are a popular choice for horse bedding as they are soft, easy to clean, have a pleasant smell and are highly absorbent.
